Getting artillery fungus off your car (those little black specks that get everywhere)

Anybody else have this problem? Those little black specks that are a complete pain in the arse to remove. I've had luck removing one by one with Turtle Wax Bug & Tar Remover but it is very tedious.
Anybody have any advice on how to prevent this little bastards from getting on the paint?

Looks like the windshield of a plane that you're flying in the mountains

A Claybar gets them out pretty easily. Best protection from them is to have a good coat of sealant/wax on the paint to keep it from sticking and making it easy to maintain/clean.

My very limited google research seems to show that it comes from mulch or rotting hardwoods.
Maybe switch to the rubber mulch or a different brand mulch.

Artillery fungus develops mostly in wood chip mulch. Choosing a different mulch is the best way to prevent it in the first place. Use bark mulch or cedar mulch instead, as they are resistant to artillery fungus. Redwood mulch and cypress mulch are not recommended for sustainability reasons as native forests have been depleted by timbering.

Does artillery fungus ruin car paint?
Yes, artillery fungus can ruin car paint. The sticky spores can stick to the vehicle and it can be difficult to remove them.

Get a can of goop and a qtip. Put qtip in goop then wipe on spots, wait a few minutes and wipe off.

i have no idea what artillery fungus is, but the ceramic coating stuff works pretty good keeping everything from sticking to your car

keeping it washed with a good coat or wax is all you can do other than getting a car cover

WD40 will remove road tar with a quickness. Spray, let sit for 3-4 minutes, wipe off with paper towel, then wash with soap & water. Done.

I would wash properly and then use an iron remover.
After that some type of clay bar/mitt to remove the remaining surface contaminants.
After the surface is clean, polish and protect.
Hope this helps!
