But the OT told me the 6.2 was bulletproof and that Toyota was the only manufacturer to have motor issues since they went with a twin turbo v6.

They had some good years 1999-2006. My 2005 Silverado has 365,000 and is still going strong.

And pretty much all those issues are caused by AFM. Delete that and almost all of the problems go away.

100%. It’s why you see a bunch of 20 year old silverados and Tahoes still driving around. That 5.3 engine pre AFM (2007) is very reliable

I have driven three of them (2 pre AFM) and they’ve all been great. The 2018 I have now is at 110k miles and no issues but I do have AFM. Really considering deleting it but runs around $3-4k apparently

Bought a used 2019 in late 2021. Paid it off last month. Plan on driving it until it falls apart.

I had a 2021 6.2 and the lifters failed at 40k, 60k, and 90k. At the point I was done and traded it in for the 3.0 diesel

5.3 is the only model to go with unless you jump to the 2500 duramax

The Ford 5.0L is a great engine - my 2019 has had zero issues and delivers 20 - 22 mpg w/plenty of naturally aspirated HP and torque.

Thristy.

If I had to have a big gas engine in a truck, I'd probably go Ford's 7.3.

But if needed that I'd get the diesel and recoup on resale.

I have a 2019 Ram that I will be driving forever. There's just no way that I trust these newer engines enough to justify paying that kind of money when there are so many issues with all of them.

Engine failures in the gas and diesel markets have become more prevalent since the dip shite commie EPA figs force mandates that are incredibly difficult to achieve by the auto industry.

The government figs would love us all on electric powered cars with a visualize world peace decal stuck on all sides. Oh, never mind the fact that our grid is already taxed to the hilt and that we will need more generation sources that are powered by fossil fuels.

Those fricking idiots.

Rebuilt trans in my Silverado. Only had 120k miles on it.
Have had to replace oil pressure sending switch twice in same time period. Also driver and passenger door handles broke. Those magnificent sobs at GM figured out how to use the absolute minimum amount of plastic in those handles.
Wouldn't go out of my way to buy another gm product.
