This is some good stuff right here. I would have trouble keeping a straight face if I was the Judge.

The New Orleans Saints' logo is still theirs.
The NFL franchise recently faced a lawsuit brought by Michel J. Messier, a self-proclaimed member of French royalty that said he and his family own rights to the Saints' logo design.
quote:
Messier claimed he is a "direct descendant of the Kings of France (Scotland, Aragon and Castille)." That branch of royalty, according to him, owns the rights to the fleur-de-lis design used with the Saints logo.
He lost the case in the Trademark Trial and Appeal Board at the Federal Circuit.
Chief Judge Kimberly A. Moore, Judge Sharon Prost and Judge Leonard P. Stark explained Messier lacked enough of an argument in the case to present an appeal, so the case was dismissed.
The Saints' current logo has remained the same since their NFL inception in 1967. New Orleans received its trademark registration for the logo from the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office in 1974. New Orleans was allowed to use the fleur-de-lis like design for the logo for "entertainment services in the form of professional football games and exhibition."

Michel J. Messier‘s attorney: ‘Ha, yeah, if you’re dumb enough to file this, I’ll take your money, sure. Sign right here and here.’

Will he sue the city of Lafayette and ULL as well?

My Falcons can’t win shite and never ever will it’s our life’s work to stop the Saints from reaching glory. Been pretty successful too!
So you stole the logo without paying due credit?

If someone threatens him with violence it will surrender, as all Frenchmen do.

"Cheese-eating surrender-monkey" is the greatest insult the Simpsons ever gave us.

Can’t really say the Saints are representative of French Royalty. Maybe he has a point.
