quote:
In March 2017, he wrote a letter to Evergreen faculty, objecting to a change in the college's decades-old tradition of observing a "Day of Absence" during which minority students and faculty would voluntarily stay away from campus to highlight their contributions to the college.[11] The announced change would flip the traditional event by asking white participants to attend an off-campus program to talk about race issues, and the on-campus program was designated for participating people of color.[12] Weinstein wrote that it established a dangerous precedent:
There is a huge difference between a group or coalition deciding to voluntarily absent themselves from a shared space in order to highlight their vital and underappreciated roles.... and a group encouraging another group to go away. The first is a forceful call to consciousness, which is, of course, crippling to the logic of oppression. The second is a show of force, and an act of oppression in and of itself.
—?Bret Weinstein in a message to a campus email list[13]
In response, the organizers stated that participation was voluntary and that no one implied that all white people should leave.[14]
In May 2017, student protests disrupted the campus and called for a number of changes to the college. The protests involved allegations of racism, intolerance and threats; brought national attention to Evergreen; and sparked further debate about free speech on college campuses.[15] During the protests, there was an altercation between protesters and Weinstein.[16][17]
In a lawsuit brought against the school by Weinstein and his wife, Heather Heying, Weinstein said the college's president had not asked campus police to quell student protesters.[18][19] Weinstein also said that campus police had told him that they could not protect him, and they encouraged him to stay off campus. Weinstein then held his biology class in a public park.[20][21] In September 2017, a settlement was reached. Weinstein and Heying resigned and received $250,000 each, after having sought $3.8 million in damage

He talks about it openly on his podcast and when asked about it while being interviewed. It’s absolute insanity

Yes and have been watching a lot of James Lindsey. You should really watch their academic paper stuff. It's pretty ridiculous what they got away with.

Yep
He even predicted then that this "anti-racism" cult would continue to spread.
3 years later and here we are

Yep. He’s been on Rogan a few times too. Great interviews. What happened was insane and few people heard about it.

I couldn't believe how the rest of the staff was catering to those students. Its hard to express how insane the whole thing was. I couldn't comprehend the thought process of the other instructors/professors.
And was there anything specific that lead to those students wanting what they were demanding?

Is that the guy that wrote about rape culture amongst male dogs in the suburban dog parks around Seattle? Didn’t he claim some ungodly number of hours spent observing the behavior hoping it would get caught and called out but instead he won an award for it I think.

You gotta listen to him on Rogan right after this all happened, frickin insanity what went on there

This is what happens when you base everything off if feelings, and in your mind offending someone that looks different than you is the absolute worst thing you can do.

I haven’t watched the documentary and I can’t remember specifics but yes there was. There was one student that was the leader of the movement and he did something (again can’t remember) to get in her shite list so she played the woman and race card. Hard.

I do remember that story but I wasn't familiar with who did it.
If I recall he or maybe it was several people who wrote these insane essays, one being rape culture amongst male dogs..

If that's what its about I will have to watch that.

Bret Weinstein and wife Heather Heying on JRE
Bret Weinstein on JRE recently
Bonus: everyone interested in Bret Weinstein should really listen to this episode of The Portal (his brother's podcast). Eric interviews Bret and they discuss what amounts to a theft of Bret's work in evolutionary biology that should have won him a Nobel prize. The woman who stole his theory ended up winning for her work in the subject. YouTube - Bret Weinstein on Eric Weinstein's The Portal
For the grievance study papers:
James Linday and Peter Boghossian - Grievance Studies (JRE YouTube interview)
Helen Pluckrose was the third participant in the grievance studies and is a great Twitter follow.
