Have you heard of tooth in eye surgery or Osteo-odonto-keratoprosthesis?

Just heard about it and it's crazy and amazing.
So say you damage both your eyes and are blind. Doctors can take your tooth, drill a hole in it. Add a lens then implant it in your cheek until it grows blood vessels. Then implant it where your eye was and restore vision. This is mad science for real.
Sounds like something Morgus would come up with.

Osteo-odonto-keratoprosthesis (OOKP), also known as "tooth in eye" surgery,[1] is a medical procedure to restore vision in the most severe cases of corneal and ocular surface patients. It includes removal of a tooth from the donor.
After removal, a longitudinal lamina is cut from the tooth and a hole is drilled perpendicular to the lamina. The hole is then fitted with a cylindrical lens. The lamina is grown in the patients' cheek for a period of months and then is implanted upon the eye
Sounds like something Morgus would come up with.

you didn't know your teeth could see? That's what made me stop chewing underwear.

I didn't know the tooth could be turned into an optical organ. That's for sure.

That's why they call it an eye tooth.
