All my opinion, but you have to have a level of self control in the 90+ percentile to be a teacher these days. Twice this year I’ve had students (both white) try to instigate physical confrontations with me with verbal threats and gestures. I’ve been a public school teacher for 30 years. The number of times that’s happened in my previous 29? Zero.
I’ve been telling you guys since COVID. It’s not sustainable without revolutionary change.

I think we should withhold judgement until we know exactly what had happened was.

That looks like hell on earth
Imagine waking up every weekday, getting dressed, knowing you have to put up with that for 8 hours

I definitely opened this thread expecting a dumpy 34 year old English teacher getting piped out by Quantavious the junior cornerback.

Looks like the students were just trying to defend their well written thesis!

Bring back corporal punishment.
I graduated high school in 2011 and corporal punishment was obviously not a thing anymore, but the Christian Brothers who had been teaching for years told us stories. They would take kids who acted up or talked back out into the hallway, shove them against the locker, and whip their ankles with a belt. One Brother in particular who was a great mentor of mine told me, and I quote, "that was the only way we could get the black kids to behave..."

Bring back corporal punishment.
Society simply needs to accept that there are individuals that will never have a positive impact.

You want to clean up schools (and reduce crime) in one generation? Require everyone receiving welfare checks to get sterilized. There is no constitutional right to welfare or parenthood. Make a choice: kids or the check.
There is no reason law-abiding, productive citizens should be paying for and subsidizing the criminal element to produce more criminals.

i can tell you for a fact that my children will never ever go to a school named “Martin Luther King High School”.
I’ll work 4 jobs around the clock 7 days a week to keep them away from this.

My High School principal would have grabbed you by the neck and put you up against the wall with you feet tangling about 2 feet off the floor. And then tell you something like, " You think you are a man? I'll show you a man! Meet me after school!"
I know cause I've seen it happen a couple of times. Nobody never met him after school!
RIP Mr. D.G.
