you have people, even on here, that will tell you that is racist, as if we are supposed to give a frick there are people on here who think its ok to send your kid to that kind of environment.
I consider it child abuse to send your child to a public school in BR.

Yeah, for what, $45-50k a year?
Not everywhere is Louisiana and not every school is in the ghetto. My wife and I both make double the high end of that range and work with mostly really great kids/families.

Male teachers at that school better be in the gym. Better yet, make it legal for teachers to carry.

No, neither of us work in Louisiana or teach high school but we are both in education and are both right at 100k.
I'm saying it's not as bad of a career as everyone in Louisiana, or this message board, seems to think if you get in a good situation. Though I will grant, in the south at least, there are more bad situations than good.

I’ve been a public school teacher for 30 years. The number of times that’s happened in my previous 29? Zero.
I’ve been telling you guys since COVID. It’s not sustainable without revolutionary change.
We need to build more juvenile jails.
A specific portion of our society belongs in jail permanently.

Jail isn’t bad enough. It’s time to revoke citizenship and send them somewhere else.

Why are there more fights and violence at school? Social media and the ability to instantly contact almost anyone. Instagram, Snapchat and all the garbage is where 99% of stuff starts in the street. I’m sure it bleeds into the schools and creates more problems.
In Louisiana, cell phones are banned at schools, yet many districts allow them as long as they are not visible. What a joke. Then, the punishment is just a slap on the wrist.
There are too many kids that are classified as SPED now who get money from the government and discipline rules don’t apply the same to them either.

My wife works at a DeKalb County school. She has a little calendar where she's counting down the days until she leaves, like a prisoner.
Our daughter is wrapping up the school year at a different DeKalb County school. Her experience has actually been really good, but she's young. We'll have her in private school before the Ewoks grow up and turn into Gremlins... or whatever happened in that movie

I just know the average reading level at Martin Luther King High is not more than a third grade level.
