There are plenty of big churches like this where the clergy aren't making bank and they're not beating you over the head for money. I don't go to one, but I know of a number.

I'm not saying we should not "give unto God".
I'm just stating that tithing, biblically, is much more complex than just "give 10% of your gross income"

Mike Haman is a GREAT guy. The dude has every characteristic you want in a pastor. He lives super modest, truly loves Jesus and people, and really enjoys serving. If anyone has noticed the old youth pastor left as well as other staffers. I know for fact it's because mike haman cut their salaries WAAAYYY back and said no way should church employees make that kind of cheese. Say what you want about Dino, Swag, Osteen, whatever. You are probably right. But Mike Haman is legit.

This is what I was trying to say. Haman lives in a $250K house in P-ville. And to me, it really sucks that the Rizzos/Swaggerts of the world have made people so cynical that they act like they know Mike as a person just by his job description.
Did anyone ever consider that maybe Mike sees the same problems with these megachurches that have been outlined in this thread, and took the HPC job to try to change it from the inside?

BTW Mike drives a five year old Acord.
Funny story. About three years ago I stopped at the red light on airline at Highland and I hear a screeching and I'm like oh hell and I brave for impact and then a tricked out Tahoe (or some such nice suv can't remember exactly) stops inches from my truck. I looked back and when the phone moved from her face it was Dinos wife.
