I think my dog ate a turtle? UPDATE pg2

So I found a baby turtle this morning in my parking lot and decided to keep him (always wanted a turtle for some reason.) Set Donatello up with the shangri-la of cardboard boxes and put it on the kitchen counter. Came home a few hours later and the turtle is gone.
I've flipped this damn house upside down looking for that fricker and I can't find him anywhere. Meanwhile, my dog was in the same part of the house and now I'm starting to think he ate him? Is that bad?

Is this a regular size turtle? Have a hard time believing a dog would swallow and even break through the shell.

Shell was maybe 3-4 inches long? It was pretty young.

ah...very likely then I guess.
Could your dog reach his head into the box, where it was placed on the counter, if he tried? Because if not, I would think the box would be on the floor.

I thought my cops joke was witty. But a turtle head poop joke was just too good on this day.
