IAH Car Rental after Midnight?

Flying into IAH at midnight. All the car rental websites say that they close at midnight. Is it really impossible to rent a car between midnight and 7 am in Houston???

I don’t remember this being an issue before but happened to me at DFW and MSY in the last month. I’d believe that’s the case in Houston too if you told me

It might be. I need to return one to Hertz for a 6 AM flight and found they do not open until 7 so I just have to leave it somewhere.

I would think you could make a reservation and if the counter is closed pick a car and the gate person could check you out. The hours are most likely when they have counter open but probably have staff there later especially if flights still coming in and shuttle runs 24 hours.

I suspect there would be someone there, but really don’t want to be proven wrong at 12:30am after flying across the country. Guess I’m booking a room.

Just call the local rental car counter at the airport and ask. I did that in New Orleans after waiting until 5am at DFW for the budget rental car counter to open back up.
I don’t remember ever having this issue at airports in years past

National still requires you go through a manned gate at the end.

Depends on the location, hoss. Smaller the airport, less money allocated to labor, therefore the lot is just closer to the terminal.

The desks close. I think the shuttle keeps going, that should be all you need.
