If you have a concealed carry permit, can you carry at Audubon Zoo?

I just got my permit and am still apprehensive about where I can carry. I know you can’t carry in bars, courts, airports, and places of worship, but I am unclear about places like the zoo, Jackson Square, French Quarter during Mardi Gras, etc.

In New Orleans? You should open carry.

YES!

I’d recommend a .270 or larger.

Don’t leave you gun in your car. Several times already little bastards have smashed windows in the Zoo parking lot.

Pretty sure it’s outside of the zoo where you have to worry about defending yourself from animals.

Only places off limits are hospitals and government buildings as far as I know.

As long as you show your vax card for your 5 year old

I am certain you cannot bring in in places of worship without permission and bars. The law is quirky in that you cannot bring it anywhere a permit is required like a parade, but can you bring it to a garage sale because permits are required there too.

Any business or private property owner can deny carry if they just put up a sign.

I think the zoo is a fun free zone (not 100%), but they are not checking bags right now. And when they did it was to look at food/drink containers (you can bring them, just certain containers are banned). I do not recall going through metal detectors anywhere
FQ during MG will have specific rules about not allowing guns. So many feet from parade or some shite.
Out in the open at Jackson Square you should be fine. It’s the individual shops, church, etc where you may have issues
Also, the bar rule has some specific exceptions. Don’t recall them, but if you’re not drinking the exclusions can apply to you

Business, yes (but it has to be clearly marked at all entrances).
Private property is not required to put up a sign. Your affirmative obligation as a CHP holder is to ask the owner's permission EVERY TIME. If he/she says no, then you cannot.
You cannot carry into a bar that is only a bar (even if it serves some food). If it is a bar/restaurant, you can carry anywhere in there (if they don't have the no guns sign).
Hospital prohibition is only for hospitals, not clinics, doctor's offices, etc. (unless they have their sign).
You cannot carry on school property, but you are NOT subject to the 1000 foot "no gun" perimeter that extends from school property. In other words, if you are walking past a school on the sidewalk, you are fine.
If there are barricades, cops and portapotties, then it's usually a permitted event. If not, you should be good.
OR
You can subscribe to the judged by 12 than carried by 6 and carry everywhere you want (and can avoid metal detectors).

Isn’t part of getting your CC permit learning where you can and can’t carry?

It’s not illegal but they could ban you

I'm sure most don't do this.

Pretty sure you have to have the homeowners permission to conceal carry at their residence.

As long as there is no sign posted, you can.
