This. This was the biggest lesson learned in Vegas. It all seems close together. It’s just not lol.

We go often and stay at the Sahara right by the strat. I watched a 14 year old girl do the bungee jump thing. She never made a noise. She landed safely. Grabbed her cell phone from her mom. Walked away as if it didn’t even move the needle. I almost passed out just watching her. Not for me.

went up there one night intending to watch the ride, but it was closed. No way I'd get on that thing. I got dizzy just looking out of the restaurant windows.

My ex wife went on all of them when we were in Vegas around 2012. I would never do it, as the idea terrified me, but she was a thrill seeker.

In hindsight I wish the ride would have malfunctioned.

everything looks close in Vegas, until you start thinking, "oh, cant be that bad of a walk, it's just right there!" yeah, no it isn't.

For some reason, the older I get the more heights bother me.

I never had a real problem until after I went skydiving, and the jump didn't scare me. I was completely calm on ascent, steping out of the plane, and the free fall was great. Not until the chute opened and I was dangling did I feel any anxiety. Ever since then, I get the tingle taint if I even watch a video with a crazy height. Those guys that change bulbs on radio towers really get me, for example.

I remember being halfway walking from The D to The Strat and was already planning an Uber to bring us back to Fremont.

There are some things in between now like the Resorts World hotels (and Fountainebleau on the other side), but that actually makes the walk even more difficult. To me, the Strip isn't that bad going from the MGM/NYNY corner to the Venetian (Aria and Cosmopolitan gum up the walk, though). Beyond that, it's not really walkable.

Oh, and I was getting a bunch of pop up ads about the new and improved Strat a few weeks ago. So, I don't think they blowing it up anytime soon. I guess not every resort is meant to be high-end.

Did the sky drop and the “roller coaster” that just shoots you over the edge a few times, had fun. The ride in question was closed due to high winds. You could also repel down the side a certain number of floors, was also closed being night I guess.

Would do again.

Edit - My brothers friend was removed from the sky drop ride due to his size so at least they were thinking about safety.

I rode it along with the other ones. None of them are scary on their own. Their fear factor is totally dependent on how scared of heights you are.

I kinda wonder how many spare bulbs they carry when they head up there. One for the change, one for the accidental drop?
