The all time Texas courthouse shooting , Tyler Texas 2005 - David Arroyo mows down his ex-wife and wounds his son, then shoots at everyone in sight. Arroyo shoots up the courthouse. A concealed carry guy engages and shoots Arroyo, not realizing that the Arroyo is wearing a ballistic vest. Arroyo kills the good samaritan, then flees the scene.
It was a short chase. One Tyler cop rear ends Arroyo's truck and Arroyo exits. One of the few cops with a rifle (a trained sniper) shoots Arroyo dead.
