Yes and no. It is a smaller part of an incorporated town called Pelham in between Spartanburg and Greenville. So you won't find a Sugar Tit town hall or get accosted by the Sugar Tit police but it is well known by all the denizens of Upstate SC. According to my grandmother, a sugar tit was a piece of cane cut and given to babies while the parents and older siblings worked in the field. The babies would lay on their blanket in the shade and suck on the cane like a pacifier.
