Issues with LG French door fridge ice maker

So Icemaker is making ice in the tray but won't dispense to the bin. I have hit the reset button to cause it to manually cycle and it works exactly as it's supposed to. Lg says to give
It 24 hours to resume working properly but I don't see any reason that it shouldnt begin dumping the ice it has made within a couple hours
Have exhausted LGs website for solutions and completely wasted my time with a phone call that didn't give me any new ideas and left me with them wanting me to set up a service call
My fridge's model number is LFX339755T followed by /01 if that's important
Any idea would be appreciated

Over 10 years ago I was shopping for fridges when the guy at the appliance store told me to stay away from in-door ice makers because they always break/leak/generally stop working. So...it isn't just you.

Similar issue with mine. It's a LG french door. Model LSC27925ST. It will fill the tray but won't drop the ice so when the tray returns to it's position it refills it causing water to pour down the side of the freezer which causes ice buildup. Just turned it off and currently using ice cube trays. Fridge is 3 years old.

If I had to guess, the gears slipped in the mechanism that pushes the ice out. Ours has an "Ice Plus" feature that makes ice faster by pumping more air into it from the freezer, and it would occasionally get hit and the ice would freeze too hard to the tray so when the motor would go to push it out, the arm would skip over and it can't fix itself and just spins. I took mine apart and fixed it.

LG is all I need to know. Sorry.

Wouldn't it prove that this is not the case bc when I hit the the reset button the tray cycles and dumps Ice just like it supposed to?

I have a Kenmore which is actually an LG. The issue is not actually the dispenser or the ice maker itself, it's the design of the dispenser. Since it's not actually in the freezer the ice tends to begin to melt and refreeze, sticking together, with opening and closing of the doors. We have started just opening the ice dispenser door and hitting on the ice tray to break up the ice. I figure when it breaks well either quit using it or get a replacement tray depending on how pissed I am at the time
Otherwise, it's a great fridge.

Again, doesn't the fact that it cycles and dumps perfectly when I hit the reset button prove that this isn't the issue?

Damn, I was about to buy this same refrigerator except in counter-depth. One of the things I liked was the in the door ice maker. frick, now I have to rethink.

With most water supplies, you probably shouldn't use it anyways. We disconnected the ice maker and started buying bagged ice every Sunday and fill up the ice tray.
I know its probably the same water, but it does taste a lot better than ours.

It's been a damn perfect fridge for over 4 years until this little issue.....
Also I think it's dumping the ice now so maybe there was something to the wait 24 hours thing

My only concern is that from what I've read most of the time whatever caused this this time is likely to do it again

People say that nowadays like it's something. Used to be, you could say 20 years or even 30 years.

Not gonna argue with that

We have the same LG refrigerator within the. Indoor ice maker. Have had the same issue for past 5 years. Will not buy LG again.
Home warranty repairmen have been out 4-5 times and fridge still will stick 2-3 times a year.

I may not have understood your issue. Does your unit stop dumping ice form the tray to the ice bucket (for lack of a better term)? The problem I have is the ice sticks together and the dispenser cannot push it through/break the ice. I can hear the motor running but no ice comes out.

No the problem was that even though the ice maker would make ice to the tray it would not "cycle" (meaning it wouldn't even try to dump the ice from the tray)
So the actual process of making ice and dumping works fine it just won't even try to dump the ice once it is made
The way I know this is bc when I hit the reset button (basically forces it to cycle manually) the tray will cycle and the ice will fall out as it is supposed to so I don't believe it's a problem of the ice sticking
All that being said I do believe it has started working again but worried this will occur again

Also after re reading your post we do sometimes after being away from home a couple days have the same issue with the ice in the bin or bucket freezing together then the dispenser not being able to break the cubes loose and dispense ice to our cup BUT it isn't very often and is a pretty easy fix
