Let me know if I'm getting this right? A billionaire secretly bought all of the time on a hyper-public telescope and they observed an object that is 4.9ly away and is course-correcting towards us and will be here in 10 years. Everyone involved in dozens of agencies has been able to keep this mum.

I'm a little skeptical.

Where else do you think the object originated from? They saw us checking them out and are coming to say hi.

This thing is that far away and they can tell it’s going to hit Earth? Let’s be clear, at that distance a deviation of 0.0001 inches would mean it would miss Earth by hundreds of miles. They can predict its course that accurately?

James Webb Telescope Detects "Non-Human Object" Headed For Earth

The hell does that even mean? Isn’t everything outside of earth’s orbit, except the James Webb scope, the voyager probes, Apollo 12’s upper Saturn booster stage, and Possibly the apollo 11’s lunar lander, qualified as a “non-human object”?

Yeah this is stupid. We cannot predict orbit or trajectory of something 5 light years away.

We can barely cover stuff in our own solar system

It's 5 LY away, and impacting in 10?

It's moving at half the speed of light? And we're tracking it? Accurately?

Well, that really narrows it down.

I’m more interested in how they determined it course corrected

Course correcting negates any trajectory flaws

In order to document course correction, you would have to be tracking this object for while
