if i remember correctly, the guy was beaten as a kid and a crackhead POS adult before he go sent to prison, so its not like he was mentally fit before he spent a couple decades in maximum security prison.
Also, the guy had escaped from the custody of some officers and made it down to florida (classic) and turned himself in, which makes no sense.
He came across as an overall creepy dude that i wouldnt really want to be around. Joe probably got the same vibe and thought it best not to press a crazy person that may or may not have killed his daughter. I wouldnt want to risk the dude killing me on my radio show either

I thought it was a very moving interview.
You could tell how conflicted this guys is. He has a profound story to tell and on one hand he is one of the strongest, most put together people I've ever heard.
And then towards the end of the interview you can tell he is still a shattered human being. His clawing for Joe to help him get more media attention at the end was a bit sad and you could tell Joe was like 'Dude, you've already won. '

Back in the day they locked up guilty people for murder like people with long rap sheets and the town hobo until the aclu came along and started letting these criminals go free

I tried listening to it the other day and couldn't. I think I stopped when he ran from the police using the bathroom.

I went into the podcast knowing nothing about the guy or his story. Off the bat pretty quickly i had myself wondering if this guy was lying or not. Joe Rogan walked a really good professional line with asking a few questions that allowed him to ramble on, pressing him to clarify a few things that allowed his audience to get a better view without being overly aggressive and offensive to his guest.
The problem is he was a drug addict, a criminal of some sort, and has been physically, sexually and mentally abused in prison by the guards who made his life a living hell. (according to his story) If you believe that then you should also expect a person that came through that to be completely mentally unhinged which it makes it nearly impossible to gauge if he truly is lying or not. The only thing i came away with any certainty is that he is very mad that other people have profited off his story and he wants to say he is due, but he doesnt want to come off as bitter (although he obviously does) so he keeps bringing up that coping mechanism outlook of how he now lives his life (forget the term he used). The JRE longform is perfect for these type interviews.

Has Joe mentioned this interview in any of his subsequent podcasts?
I'd love to know his thoughts on the matter.

Again, you do not know what you're talking about.
He wasn't locked up for the murder of his daughter. He was wrongly convicted of raping and murdering some girl in the 80s. After he was released his infant daughter died. He said it was from SIDS, others here apparently disagree.

Some of the saddest stuff I’ve ever heard. Folks judging a man innocent of the crime he was accused for fleeing are being a little myopic.
He’s broken almost past repair, so we must take that into perspective when gauging his interpersonal interactions. Further, there’s no evidence that he killed his daughter.

apparently he's blown through that and has nothing to show for it.
Since his appearance on Rogan many people who've dealt with him have come out and said he's bad news and someone to avoid at all costs.

I can't imagine being locked up that long on death row for something I didn't do. I listened to almost the whole thing. I just felt towards the end, he was up selling so hard that it became annoying.

Awesome topic. I read the episode synopsis and saved it to listen to. Can't get through all of Rogan's shows because he does them so often and they average 3 hrs each, but this one stood out.
As all have stated, he's clearly a very damaged person. I wouldn't be surprised if he was messed up this bad simply because he lost that infant daughter. So, when taking into account that he's lived a life full of pain and violence no matter who's fault you believe that to be, you have to expect that rollercoaster, overly detailed mixed up speech.
I felt really bad for the guy mostly, but also couldn't finish it because of 2 things:
1. When he got so choked up basically telling acting like now that he got on this podcast he "made it" right after all of the talk about people he worked with just deciding out of the blue to screw him out of money.
2. When he was questioned about how he got caught up in the lie about the Craig murder and justified it, with no remorse, by telling the audience he needed to pin it on this other guy who he thought was a drug addict and wouldn't realize what was going on or who was already dead. The personal responsibility isn't there.
I felt horrible for the guy, but couldn't relate to any of his reasoning due to many factors. Got tired of the word salad.

How come the “innocent” people accused of a crime are always sketchball creepers like this?
