it would be except that's not how he went

Here a Twitter lawyers explanation of what happened to OJO.
The lacerations on his arm are not at all consistent with this theory whatsoever. I also don't believe there were lacerations to his face. And weren't the bar glasses not broken?

There was. Karen Read publicly said that she pulled glass out of his face that morning.

Seems a bit over the top for me personally.
Did they have any glass or glass shards in the snow? I don't recall if they did or not

I recall a big deal being made of the fact that the glass was thick and less likely to break. At least one of them.

I mean, it's reasonable to believe the glass would break if he was in fact hit by the SUV but there was a lot of chatter only about the shards of the tail light but I don't recall any glass being mentioned.

She backed into his vehicle. That's where the slight damage came from.

Yes they found glass from multiple sources in the vicinity of officer john o’keefes body.
In fact they found the pieces of CLEAR glass that morning, but it took them hours to find the first piece of RED plastic and over a week to find all of the RED plastic from that taillight.

Over a full week to comb that area is ridiculous. I suppose there was a blizzard hampering their progress but that’s still a long time.
You seem to be one of the most in tune with this second trial so how do you think it will go?

I've followed the first trial pretty decently, so I'll share my opinion. I know civiltiger has stronger options on it than me, but I think he'd agree with my overall sentiment. I'm not sure what exactly happened and I don't think that anyone ever will. However, proving that Karen Read is guilty beyond reasonable doubt is basically impossible to do in this case. It's filled with reasonable doubt. I don't believe that Karen Read will ever be found guilty. There's no way 12 people will unanimously come to the conclusion. I think/hope that she will be cleared in the 2nd trial. I think the defense will stress "beyond reasonable doubt" much more than they did in the 1st trial.

That’s pretty much where I’m at. Maybe she did it, maybe she didn’t. I have no idea. But there’s so much reasonable doubt everywhere that I don’t see how she gets convicted.

Happy to hear what everyone thinks will happen because the only stationary thing in this trial is KR/her defense team and the IMO very flimsy theory on how OJO died.
New prosecutor, semi-new accident reconstruction/animation team, new experts. Witness list has grown as well.
I am curious as to how KR is paying for that dream team though. That’s a lot of $$ between the first trial, prep for 2nd trial and then the trial itself.

I don’t think it’s a coincidence that a documentary was released in between the first and second trials. And I’d bet there are more to come.

I do agree with you in that we probably won't know exactly what happened but I also add that I do know it was not Karen Read.
Officer John O'Keefe was beat. He suffered injuries all over the frontal and temporal area of his brain. The front of his skull has so many fractures that the doctor could not count them. He was hit numerous times in that head (likely from fist) at some point before he was found dead. Since we see him on video at 12:10am and he is walking upright with no apparent issues it happened after they left the bar.

The Defense team lawyers are no longer charging for their time. People are donating money to a fund and the fund is being used to hire experts. As well as cover the lawyers travel expenses.

I watched the HBO doc and come away with the same opinions that most folks here shared. Chic is not likable and potentially could have hit her boyfriend.....but no way she gets convicted unless new evidence comes into play. There's a mountain of "reasonable doubt" in my opinion.
I would be shocked if she's ever convicted. She may not be acquitted, but I just can't see a unanimous jury convicting her of the crime. Way too many holes in the case.

So I think they're hearing motions today. I'm gonna try to tune in.
