They are claiming the City of St. George should not exist all because they City rightfully so won't allow them to build a massive Perkins Rowe type development on a tiny strip of land between Pecue and and a residential neighborhood.

58 acres seems to me a bit more than “a tiny strip of land.”

Suing a city and claiming that city doesn't exist? How do you sue something that doesn't exist?

If the Council has valid reasons for denial, Kleinpeter will lose. The denial just can’t be arbitrary or based upon an illegal reason.

The Councils usually say too much traffic, infrastructure not sufficient to support, and even drainage issues.

And looks like their lawyers feel they can’t win on the decision being illegal, so they are threatening the very existence of St George as leverage to have them fold.

So tired of this.

Until judges start sanctioning these parties, the retardation will continue.

They're just not greasing the right palms.

Obviously the Pecue corridor is primed to be the next Siegen, Bluebonnet, Essen, etc. It would make sense that the SG leadership isn't gonna just let anybody through a bunch of bullshite up on it like BR does.

You don't get a whole lot of ops to design a major thoroughfare from the ground up. I appreciate the SG braintrust using due diligence. If Klienpeter wants to just do whatever they want, there's lots of empty lots and shitholes in NBR they can run roughshod in.

Don't bite the hand that feeds. You guys are cow people. You should know this.

You want to be like Madison, MS, this is how you do it. Controlling development and not let any dude with a set of plans put up whatever he wants.

I’d be kinda pissed too if I were them

BRBR adds that LRK also argues that its property has carried a C-2 Heavy Commercial zoning designation since 1994, consistent with zoning in East Baton Rouge Parish, but that the overhaul of St. George's zoning code caused LRK’s tract to be assigned a more restrictive classification The lawsuit says that the tract should retain its decades-old C-2 designation and the development rights that come with it, BRBR added.

This "tiny strip of land" is 58 acres. Perkins Rowe itself totals 47 acres, so
