Who the hell buys these?
Stopped in to their store with the gf. She has a pair and so does her mother.
Regular plastic frames. Non polarized lenses.
$355?!?!?!?
I inspect the frames
“Designed in NEW ORLEANS” prominently displayed.
Hm...... can’t find country of manufacture anywhere. No “handmade in Italy”. I keep scouring.
Finally on the most obscure nook on the whole thing “frame: China”
Who the hell is paying nearly $400 for sunglasses from fricking China that cost probably $4 to make.

They are racist as of last year.

Don’t be mad at the company for selling them that high. Be mad at the morons for buying that high.

I own a pair. They’re polarized. Gold frame. They are every bit as good lens wise as my Maui Jim’s.
You have to catch them on sale. They also have a fairly good repair policy as well.

Most things fall into this category. It’s called capitalism.

I have a pair that I got as a gift and they’re the best pair of glasses I’ve ever worn. Plus, they replace broken/lost glasses one time no questions asked.

What’s a good sale price on them?

Sign up for their emails.
I believe mine were “originally” $350’ish and I got them on “sale” for $280, about in line with MJs.

I assume this wouldn’t be thread worthy if they were like $12 glasses, so it has some to do with how much they are being bought and sold for.
And from the tone of the OP it comes off as blaming both sides of the transaction, hence my statement.

Not familiar with those, but I bought a few pairs of SHADY RAYS and you can’t beat them, especially for the price (sub $50).
I like my Maui Jim’s and Costas, but find myself wearing the SR more. Lifetime replacement to boot. I bought a prescription pair as well (about $120)....

Just got on shady rays wagon as well. Like them in addition to my costas and Maui Jim’s. Big sunglasses guy
Ray Bans feel heavier but I feel the actual lens is better

I have some. They’re well made, and the lenses are excellent. I’ve had Costas and Maui Jim’s and I’d say these are on par with the Maui Jim’s. Not a Costa fan myself after a couple broke at the plastic hinge.
I’ve already used their free replacement policy for a scratched lens of my own fault. That was nice.
