LA registration/Inspection/Brake tags

I'm finally getting around to registering my vehicle in LA after MONTHS of dealing with VW Credit and the DMV... neither one knew what the frick needed to be done to transfer a lease.
I finally went to ABC Title and they handled it end-to-end
My next question is; Now that I'm finally getting plates, what else do I need to get? Inspection? I heard something about a Brake Tag?

Your Virginia inspection sticker is good until it expires. I have Texas stickers on mine.

If it's registered in Nola, you can only get a brake tag in Orleans Parrish.

If its registered in Orleans parish, Shell on Magazine is the one that does it regardless of your tint.
If its registered in Jefferson parish, go anywhere and its 2yrs for $30, simple and done.

If it were me, because it's a leased vehicle, I'd just keep the registration in whatever state it was originally titled. Only change the registration if you decide to exercise the purchase option.
Brake tag is the City of New Orleans term for an inspection sticker. If you live in the municipalities of Kenner, Westwego, or New Orleans you must get your car inspected at a station located in that city. Otherwise you're required to have it inspected in the parish where the vehicle is registered.
The inspection sticker in certain parishes where air pollution is a problem are good for only one year but most are for two years.

Not true.
There is no reciprocity honored by the State of Louisiana or the Louisiana municipalities which have their own stickers (New Orleans, Westwego, Kennah, brah) for any other state's Inspection Stickers.

I can't tell you the number of people I know who have TX inspection stickers. I've even gotten pulled over and the cop didn't say anything about it. You have a statute for that?
