It's the Good Lord trying to wash out some of the patchouli ahead of time.

Update directly from Festival:

quote:

We just heard Mayor Monique Boulet and Festival Director Scott Feehan on KPEL
Here’s a recap:
?? the rain has slowed, water has receded downtown
?? Festival volunteers and downtown businesses are cleaning up as we speak
?? If you need help, call 911, the city will respond
?? Day 2 of Festival is ON!
It’s also our Mayor’s Birthday today! ??
We will see y’all tonight, leave your waders at home!

Josh Guillory is an idiot, douchebag and fraudster, that's how. Was very hard to get people to turn out for him.

Link to Lafayette 911 calls, you have to wait for it to load and it's slow.

I did not vote for her, but she has not been a bad mayor thus far. Gullory was not really a good mayor, and he is an arrogant prick so he kind of brought the loss upon himself.

Her mom was one of the most conservative democrats in this state until she became governor. I am not sure what happened there, other than possibly being forced to bow to party pressure after Katrina and Rita.

rode momma's coat tails to any position she's ever held.

Momma rode Coach's name too in all likelihood.

Pops was flooded bad!

They've got great food, but terrible business sense. That place floods once a year it seems. I would have moved after the 2nd time, but not these guys. Sweep out the water, wipe down the walls, change out the electrical and back to work. Insane. I know for Festival they make a killing with those bread bowls, but no way they make enough to offset the repairs.

Festival International. It's where we celebrate the people that answer when we call tech support.

While I'm happy for them, how the hell can a restaurant open up less than 4 hours after having 2 feet of flood water in it?

Location, Location, Location. Concrete floors throughout the brick building and electrical outlets have been elevated. Pop's got 2" of water this morning and it was gone in several hours. If Collin doesn't own the bldg, the landlord is responsible for any flood damage repairs. He's been there 10 years, and prior tenant was T-Coon's.

edit: I got over 6" of rain in Youngsville. Took me 1 hr 15 minutes (10 miles) to get to W. University by Lauras' II
