I am going to laugh my arse off when Trump shuts down American involvement in this madness.
You then will have the.opportunity to go to Ukraine, pick up a rifle and fight for your honor until some Russian blows your damn head off.
Your hero Zekensky will welcome you with open arms. You and Cope could go together.

I think Hegseth had some good ideas and initiatives, and he had a lot of ground level support in the military, but you really want someone with a higher level of military experience than he has in that position IMO. Its like if an assistant manager/keyholder got picked to be a district manager of Cains franchises over someone who has actually been a full blown manager or something.
I hope the more rational of us in here can agree that this post/anti-expertise world we are moving toward is probably going to be a bad one.
The experts absolutely don't always have it right. Sometimes they get it very wrong (COVID). But we've responded to that blunder by throwing the baby out with the bathwater.
I saw a good point the other day where someone said American voters basically don't like someone who actually understands policy. Its like many of us don't want to think someone might actually know more than we do about something.... so you get these substance-void husks of politicians in positions of power with no idea how to actually do anything. The left tried to convince us how great Kamala was when she went from the most left-wing senator in Congress to cosplaying as a moderate within half a decade... the right killed DeSantis because he isn't good enough at insulting his political opponents even though he is probably the most effective conservative politician in decades.
TLDR please pick someone more competent and qualified for SecDef that at least somewhat aligns with where Hegseth was politically

People have been saying this since he was elected. I bet you are bursting at the seams. You seem so upset. You need to release your frustrations. Trump doesn’t look like he’s stopping anything.

My tax dollars aren't gong to help Russia.
Being willing to spend other people's money on Ukraine isn't some valiant and noble stance. If you truly feel that strongly about it, I think you should at least donate some of your own money if not just go over there and fight yourself.
And likewise if someone feels that strongly about Russia. If you really think Russia is fighting against Nazis and for Christianity then this should be a modern chance to participate in the crusades for you.
Both sides, saddle up and go fight for what you believe in.

Just got off the phone with a Ukrainian former Drone Operator near Kharkiv in 2022. His employer brought he and his family to the US paying for everything include bone marrow transplant for his wife. He had been a rockstar process plants and equipment salesman for the company for several years before and since, not just in Ukraine but in other countries near Ukraine not named Russia.
Per him it is only bad within about 6 miles from the front. Everyone goes along with their lives beyond that. All damage is pretty much rebuilt almost right away from drone and missile attacks away from the actual front.

I pay hundreds of thousands of dollars in taxes. I’ve yet to see a menu where I get to delegate where my tax dollars go. I just write checks.
My money goes to a lot of things that I would rather not fund. I don’t like it but that’s how it works. There are no choices.
The way to change that is through elections. Support and elect candidates who have the same philosophy as you do. Vote against taxes you don’t agree with.
I suggest that if you don’t want any of your tax dollars going to Ukraine that you continue to protest, and you continue to support officials that agree with you. Sometimes that works.

Where is George W Bush when you need him and we need him bad.
Wd need a United coalition to act in unison to stop rogue nations like Iran and Russia from stirring up so much trouble.
Trump had great ideas, but his strong suit is not building a consensus. It’s too much us versus them.

It is not shocking you think one of the worst presidents we had who lied us into the Iraq War is needed right now

Bush’s problem was believing the intel the Clintons gave him, but yes he made a huge mistake by launching an all out war.
W was a coalition builder, not an astute judge of global strategy.

This is no surprise since Russia systematically killed the intellectuals back in the 30s.
During WWII Ukraine became a huge battleground and million man armies fought with 1000s of tanks and artillery pieces adding to killing.
Contrast that with Russia who sent all the dumbies out first to clear the minefields leaving the smarter people in the rear to should the ones smart enough to turn and retreat.
It adds up.

No, his problem was all the side stories they invented to justify the invasion. The most egregious was giving false hope to scott speicher's family. The yellow cake uranium story was equally retarded, as was the background drama with that story. It was simple to run with violating the surrender agreement after the final round of kicking out iaea inspectors. There were no further excuses needed, if we believe in international law.
