My wife wants to take our kids there. Is it worth an 1 1/2 drive?

It's fine. How old are the kids? It's good for younger kids because it's not as big as Blue Bayou--2 main slides, a lazy river, and a big splash pad. Still plenty to keep the kids occupied.
No outside food or drink can be brought in, but they have a concession stand.

9yo boy and a 8yo girl. We may hit Blue Bayou instead. The Houma/Thibodaux area really needs a waterpark that size. I miss Waterland USA!

Passed blue bayou yesterday and it was a packed house.

My 9 y. o.has plenty of fun at Liberty Lagoon, but he's been begging to go to Blue Bayou. Problem is I don't feel comfortable letting him go off by himself at BB because it's so big, and I have to stay with his little sister at all times, so LL is easier for me because I can pretty much spot him wherever he goes. I think his 12 y.o. sister gets bored there though, even with friends around.
Blue bayou has a lot more to do, but they also have really long lines on the weekends and it's a lot more expensive.

Drop the kids at mawmaws and go to the Prop Stop.

If you're in Houma, why don't you just hit the Cool Zoo at Audubon Zoo in NOLA? That's much better than Liberty Lagoon.

Ever seen a single flower bursting out of a charred field?

Drove by there the other day, looked like same mix of ppl as blue bayou. Nothing to be afraid of country clubbers.

You can head to Aqua Pards in Denham if you're worried about an oil slick.

Blue bayou is awful
As a water park it's pretty awesome actually

In a bright yellow, red, or green swim shirt--yes, he does.

As to the other implication, I didn't find that to be the case. About 60/40 split the times I went.

Water parks in general are pretty fricking trashy
