God bless these creatures. Im on a swampy part of the panhandle and the gnats/flies have been more than my chickens could begin to handle with all this flood rain. Haven't seen the frogs until today and its like the military showed up. There's several dozens singing their song outside our home and they've already thinned the bugs in a single night. The sound of several dozens frogs is sleep music.

Dedicating this thread to the frogs and spiders out in our wet areas doing God's work.

Gotta wear earplugs in my backyard or the grenouilles will deafen you.

Make sure you turn them all into fried frog legs after they clean out your bug problem.

These are squirrels tree frogs, little meat. Hardly even see any toads out here. But man, 100s showed up tonight after being absolutely absent until tonight. It's loud asf. We needed them so badly. You couldn't breathe without swallowing gnats all last week.

Oh so now I’m loud, to go along with all my other annoyances.

My gf and I were at Blue Angel park yesterday on Perdido Bay hiking and fishing, and then we hit up our chantarelle honey hole out there on the way out around 8ish. As we were probing around the longleaf pine forest for the mushrooms in the waning light, there were two whip-poor-wills near us sounding off, and then the frog symphony started up. We basked in the peacefulness.

And to your point, the mosquitoes were notably less pestulant last night.

I'm smack in the middle on N.O. and my back yard sounds like it could be nestled on the edge of a bayou in the middle of a swamp.

Now, if I could just see a bunch of Lightning Bugs illuminating the night sky, that would complete the picture.

A wise (but scared) frog who was in Cajun country once said it’s not easy being in Gheens.

Oh I've got everything covered.

Frogs by the water areas. Anoles hanging out on the screens to catch bugs, brown anoles a little lower on the porches and skinks on the ground.

What are the ones that sound like barking ducks? Those things go off every other night it seems behind my house and without a sleep machine I'd be screwed.

Frogs are to the bugs as cats are to mice and rodents.
