I went to Dr. Amhad at BR orthopedic Clinic for my Bicep Tendon rupture (Distil Tendon)
He is a Navy trained surgeon. not the best bed side manor, but a good surgeon. Believe he specializes in hand and elbow

Dr. Mark Fields at BR Ortho does (or used to do) a lot of work for the LSU baseball team. I think he specializes in shoulders and elbows.

I saw Dr. Chip Bankston at BROC for my distal bicep tear. Very good surgeon and surgery and recovery went very smoothly. He is also a doctor on the Saints medical staff. Highly recommend.

Ahmad or Field. Kilroy retired long ago.

I've seen Dr. Chip Bankston with Baton Rouge Orthopedic for shoulder, elbow, and tendonitis. He took care of all of my injuries, aches, and pains.

Dr Mark Fields did my rotator cuff and elbow surgery. No complaints.

Rumor has it that he is 78 and lives in Natchez.

Depends. Average is 2-4 weeks in a sling.
Make sure you have a good supply of button up shirts. Darn polos are tough to get on/off.

This. I saw Dr. Fields for a problem before. He is supposedly the guru of shoulder and elbows. I also saw Ahmad. He performed two surgeries on me that was unnecessary. One on each arm. After the surgeries my problem wasn’t getting any better so I went and saw another doctor. It turns out I had a neck problem that was causing me to not have any feeling in either of my hands. I now have 3,4 & 5 disc held together with steel rods. The good thing is now I have feeling in my hands. I also left Ahnad,s office one time without seeing him. He was about an hour and a half behind and when they finally put me in a room I waited for another hour in that room before I left without seeing him. I heard he is good but for me I’ll never see him again
