Got a notice today that our GSPL league games vs Louisiana teams have been postponed due to travel restrictions. How did club soccer get lumped into the COVID restrictions? Referee unions have prevented games over here in MS, but that’s soon to be lifted...now we don’t have anyone to play.

BRSC, MSC, and Fire are the clubs they’ll, hopefully, play...whenever y’all get it together over there.

Be terrible if they’re not allowing practice for school or clubs.

From what we've heard for Fire, things are postponed until phase 4. No telling when that will be.

If travel ball has been going on for months, why wouldn't soccer?

MSC is practicing but is not really soccer practice. Physical distanced with lots of conditioning and practice is limited to an hour.

We all hope they can actually play, but it's looking less and less likely.

Crap. Not really worth us training if there are no opponents to play. This is U15 for my son...so this whole thing is almost done.

Probably shouldn’t have signed him up this year.

It’s full bore just over the state line. 3 hours of football in the morning and 1.5 hours of soccer in the evening.

there's really no rationalization. The LSA simply adopted arbitrary benchmarks that happen to coincide with the state's phases.

The clubs are basically screwed unless and until they convince the LSA to open up. I do know that the clubs have less registered than last year. That's a financial hit. That will continue the longer this drags on.

My jeans are stinky. Smelly is a better word, I don’t consider it stink. Kind of like an after shave smell...musky.

We need to sneak them over for a game. We can get y’all MS jerseys so no one will know y’all are breaking protocol.

They’re not in GSPL nor are they in the Midsouth conference. My son only plays league ball for the most part, outside of big regional tournaments like they hold in Birmingham.

When he played tournament soccer they played Slidell fairly often. I remember them being coached better than my son’s team...but I don’t think they ever won. Maybe once at a County Farm tournament. ETA: Nope that was the Spartans (thought they were Slidell too).

Under LSA's phasing approach, even if we moved to Phase 3 in Louisiana--which is not happening for a while--clubs are still prohibited from full practices, scrimmages, and games.

It's truly ridiculous.

But LSA is just doing what USYS is guiding them to do right?
