Dex Morgan is sleeping on the job

KSLA

quote:

A veteran Louisiana State Police captain was not actually booked into parish prison on a DWI charge, despite an initial State Police news release that claimed she was.

Instead, state troopers brought Captain Belinda Murphy to the prison where she was fingerprinted and issued a misdemeanor summons. The high-ranking trooper was then released without being technically booked into prison.

That allowed her to skip the process of having a mug shot taken by jail staff. That mug shot would have then become a public record and released to the media.

State Troopers responded to the three-vehicle crash at 3:30 a.m. Tuesday at the intersection of Plank Road and Harding Blvd. near the airport in Baton Rouge.

All three drivers were injured. The Baton Rouge police officer and the driver of the third vehicle were treated and released at a hospital, investigators said.

The good ole boy/gal whatever network with the LSP in full effect on this one. They are literally the modern day Mafia

Bonus....WNHI even if I was as drunk as she was

According to the article, she was issued a misdemeanor summons. That’s hardly being arrested as most people think of being arrested.

Edit: Sorry One72, replied to the wrong person.

The fact an LE officer is keeping her pension after driving drunk is amazing to me.

Should lose her job immediately and all that goes with it.

Sure, I guess. I got arrested in 2017 in EBR and my girlfriend came and got me. Never had a picture taken. They took my prints and typed some stuff in the computer. I got released with a piece of paper that told me to expect a letter in the mail for a court date.

I know this is a stupid question, but what’s to keep someone that just got a DWI that was close to what she got from demanding you get the same sentence? It would obviously cost at lot of money, but I promise you she will get off with a month of unsupervised probation

Given her age, I’m assuming she’ll be retiring by the end of the week, if she didn’t retire first thing this morning.

First offense is a misdemeanor, fine and probation. Will cause her more problems work wise than anything. Since that rank is an office job, she'll probably take a financial hit, possible demotion. Or she could take whatever percentage of her retirement she is due of her approximately 130k salary.
It can happen to anyone, law enforcement is not above it. Her release by summons is not unusual either. Depends on the jail count and how busy they are. And the fact they don't want cops and elected officials sharing jail cells with citizens.

Nah, eff that. She’s a public servant and a desk cop. Put her in jail.
