So what does an A constitute? And how does an A plus work?
Posted on 4/16/15 at 12:58 pm to wildtigercat93
A is 4.0, and A+ will be higher, like a 4.3 or so.

I honestly couldn't tell you one of my teachers names from my time at LSU. They all rounded up though

I imagine the enrollment numbers will explode for BS elective courses to pull GPA up
What's the cut off on the plus's, normal, and minus's? Like 3.333 percent for each one?

Can they actually go back and apply previous grades into the system? it sounds like a dumb question, but I graduate in December

They should just go to the SouthPark model...
check, check plus,check minus
check, check plus,check minus

Does this include HSC?

That sucks. Tulane has this and it blows.
A+ doesn't exist
A 93 and up : 4.0
A- 90-92.99: 3.66

Hmmm. UGA does plus/minus grading but there is no such thing as an A+
Posted on 4/16/15 at 1:14 pm to GeorgeReymond
hmmm, i wonder how this would've affected mine. i had only one B in my major and that was thanks to a BS ambiguous final essay question that the prof admitted was ambiguous. i had one point from an A in the class and the ahole wouldn't budge.
but i may have ended up with some A-s instead of As. water under bridge.

I just checked the registrars website and standing grades will remain the same
This is from the registrars site; I'm not sure if it's a typo but there's no way they're going to award 4.3's. I think A+ will also equal 4.0 too (I could be wrong)

Now can we just a few parking spots?

They should be doing something like this across the country. It would be easy to adapt the gpa calculators. I had several classes where getting a B was easy, but working for an A took a lot more work. Getting an 89 in a class is better than getting an 80. Might as well give credit when it's earned.

I had this in college. Make sure you get a A- and not a B+. 3.7 doesn't weigh down a high overall GPA too much but a 3.3 has a large impact and only a point can separate the difference.
4.3 for a A+ is dumb.

This won't effect GPA calculation.

This is going to be a train wreck for engineering majors
