I’m looking to find some different types of scrap wood and maybe some other things for starting up a table making hobby. Are there any lumber yards around that have things like this for me to check out

TIA

You could try cabinet shops, cypress shops for remnants/ their trash.

Also, flooring companies may have partial or damaged boxes of different woods.
Try outdoor board for serious answers.

Not clear if you’re looking for scraps or to actually buy different woods. Cabinet shops may be able to point you in some different directions.

Stines has some rough cut lumber in various woods, can order stuff for you as well.

Brazos can get you just about anything you need.

If you are looking for hard to find exotic woods then Deano Hardwoods in Broussard is great

Deano

I also go to a local guy here that has a sawmill and by rough-cut then mill it further to fit my needs. Simple pine stop moulding with a round over is currently around $1.18 per LF at Home Depot and Lowes. I made my own today ripping down some studs then running it through my planer and router table. It came out to about .8 cents per LF and an hour of my time.

Get on Facebook and search for rough-cut lumber on the marketplace. You would be shocked at what is out there.

Jenkins Lumber Company in the st. Tammany Washington Parish area on la-25 but theyre a mill so I'm not sure if that's what you're looking to work with.

Another one to check out is Acadian Millworks in Covington on US 190. They're going to have some really nice scraps in all kinds of domestic hardwoods. Cherry, mahogany, Walnut, maple, etc. Problem is, I don't know if or how they part with their scraps.
