Interesting history. A few Pershings were pivotal in saving South Korea in the early days of the war.

Pershings made it to the battle field I believe in early 1945 just as the war in Europe was drawing to a close. It was the counter to the Nazis Tigers. There is a video of a Pershing and a Tiger tank battle in the late stages of World War II in Germany.

The famous film of the cologne cathedral duel is between a Pershing and a panzer mark 5 Panther not a Mark 6 Tiger.

On the defense in Korea, the Army preferred the M26. When advancing up the peninsula, they preferred the M4A3E8 due to the ease of maintenance and reliability. The Marines kept theirs longer and maybe throughout. To lazy to go to the bookshelf to confirm the latter.
