Guy couldn't win.
If he took it easy on her at all, he'd be putting future Marines in danger because she (and her commander) would have an artificial idea of her abilities.
If he goes hard (which he did) all he did was beat up a girl.
What sucks is how the instructors clearly jumped his shite after the first encounter. Maybe that was not the proper technique for the exercise and that's why, but if it's just because ot wasn't sporting, that's bullshite.

I disagree with you here. The point was made and it was made decisively. No need to let her be injured if they could prevent it.
Edited to add - referring to them quickly stopping the fight, not any possible correcting of his actions afterwards which seems to be what some people think I meant. In pugil stick fights in the Marines, typically, the round is over when one of the fighters scores a killing strike, which he obviously did.

Conservative and GOP politicians are such pussies by not making this a bigger issue because they are afraid of losing votes from women. They won't lose any. All the women who have husbands, sons and brothers in the armed forces don't want women in combat roles. They know it puts their loved ones in danger.

Imagine having something happen to you and then having to depend on a woman in full gear to pick you up and carry you out to safety. If these people were the OT, they wouldn't get carried out by the buffest of men, but still.

It wasn't that they stopped him (even though he looked to be stopping on his own), it was that they seemed to be reading him the riot act for treating the initial confrontation in a realistic manner (which is what you're supposed to do). Their doing that gives the impression that they expect females to be treated more delicately than males (ie: two different sets of requirements, while simultaneously saying such different requirements don't exist).

If she wasn't a marine, I would totally agree with you.
However, as they are probably in the same unit, I have no problem with her getting pummeled, often, if only to show
1)Women don't belong in combat arms
2)If she is going to stay in the same unit, she should expect similar results until she gets better. If this happened in combat the results would be much much worse.

The point was made whether she suffers a life altering injury or not. The training value of her getting hurt badly is zero. The value of this incident is demonstrating how utterly outmatched women are against men. Unfortunately, the cowardly Marine three and four stars don't care how many women are injured in the pointless pursuit of women being equal to appease the politicians.

Nothing I see in this video indicates he is being read the riot act or even being corrected. If anything, I can almost guarantee you that these dudes are all about it. They do stop the fight, but they stopped it the same way pugil stick fights are always stopped, which is when a fighter scores a "killing" strike. They would have stopped it the same way if it had been two male Marines.
