In Houston there are areas where the use of gas powered leaf blowers is severely restricted to certain hours. Been like that for 15 years. Residents also managed to get restrictions on train speed and the use of horns at night.

Pretty sure it is only one town.
ETA: And I’m the guy that uses a gas blower and blows it out in the street.

This has no connection whatsoever to a south Louisiana audience.
These people live in a community with small lots and massive trees. If you have ever lived anywhere that actually has a fall season you would understand the amount of blowing required. They have weekly pickups by the city for leaves that are blown into the street on the curb. It is a huge process that lasts for months. If not you would have ankle deep leaves in your yard and driveway every week.
For those that live in the south near hurricane affected areas- imagine every day, all day hearing chainsaws. For three months straight. This is about the noise. Nobody is blowing 3 acres of leaves or using electric lawnmowers. All of the lawn companies up here already use them.
Downvote away but my EGO 765 is amazing. OH NO ITs GREEN!!!

The full ban will go into effect for everyone, commercial and residential, in March 2026.
To be clear, I don’t like government making more laws, especially pointless ones like this because the impact on the environment is basically non-existing. But for 99% of residential home owners, electric yard appliances are just as good and more convenient than gas operated tools.

post your link to prove this, Karen.

if you want to use a battery blower by all means go ahead, but the government should not be able to ban a gas powered anything just because they think it helps global warming, i like gas so i should be able to use gas. god dang democrats want to control every aspect of your life

Massachusetts didn’t ban gas leaf blowers, the town of Arlington did.

1) I don’t think you know what “Karen” means.
2) It’s called common fricking sense.

no, its called you stating opinion as fact and claiming you know what's best for everyone else, which makes you "Karen".
Posted on 4/23/25 at 2:59 pm to CAD703X
Would love to see enforcement of that

If your opinion is that gas is better and more convenient than electric yard tools for the vast majority of residential homeowners then your opinion is stupid.

Percentage of people who use electric vs gas is irrelevant. If electric works for suburban properties, fantastic. It wouldn't work for me.
And for me, a two stroke is not inconvenient. I have an ultrasonic cleaner to clean carbs, I can change piston rings easily and can keep them running for many years.
What works for some, most, or 90% doesn't mean that you just start outlawed shite just because in your opinion only 1% need it. There's a whole hell of a lot of us that blow leaves on over 5 acres with hardwoods. Plus the hundreds of trees of mine that butt that surround the 5 acres I mow and blow that invariably also end up on the land I mow and blow.
Enjoy your battery equipment and I'll do my own thing.

its my opinion that every homeowner has the right to decide for himself (or herself) what tools best suit their needs. I offered no opinion on what anyone should use. You did that out of your own arrogance.

Ahhh.
The new, non-stop sounds of gasoline powered portable generators charging batteries all over Massachusetts.

People will ignore it and rightfully so. Imagine arresting someone using a leaf blower.

I literally started my post saying there should be no laws made outlawing gas lawn tools Nancy.

Mine too. I literally stated that in the first post you replied too.
I swear, some of you supposed “baws” are more emotional than teenage girls.
