I really enjoy those videos but it seems he was repeatedly sketchy with the insurance claims and he’s in trouble now.

I trusted this man with my life. This stings.

The Mike I knew would have never done this.

Ah man...this is a gut punch. I really loved Matt and his crew. Seemed like simple down to earth people that got stuff done. They raise so much money for local charities In Southern Utah too. This sucks.

We talking about Fat Mike or Dirty Mike? Really makes a difference here in my opinion.

The guy's a hero to the 4WD and UTV crowd, and his videos are watched by those groups incessantly. If he filed written claims for work done, made representations that they were 4WD vehicles & not UTV, then he was misrepresenting, defrauding & illegally taking proceeds (money).

If he's dealing with the State AG, he may contact Reyes directly & tell them to go "light", being that he's (likely a big Trump supporter & MAGA man) an ally on the Right. If he in fact pays money back to AAA, I wouldn't be surprised if they lessen the charge to misdemeanor & he gets put on probation.

AAA may have other ideas though, and not allow him in the near term to be a tow agent for them; it would serve him right. The degree of culpability balanced against connection - he will probably contact state legislators or County officials, & tell them how "innocent" he is. A real "victim" that is fleecing a big auto insurance agency.

And his vids are monetized - prob 50 to 100k monthly. Why even misrep for the 15k in the charges? So stupid

He gets 17 million views per month according to social blade. A good rule of thumb is videos earn $2 per 1000 views. Some more and some less but $2 is the average so he is making in the range of $30K per month on Youtube.

You mean to tell me a tow truck driver committed fraud?!? Next thing will end up being PI attorneys trumping up injuries of their clients and super pastors finding money behind urinals!?! Bizzaro world I tell you.

I've enjoyed watching his videos lately, but did have a cringe moment when he towed that old Jeep underwater through that pristine high mountain stream. I kept thinking that it was going to leave an oil slick in that pool. No telling how many wild native trout that might have killed.
Anyway, he'll survive this little brush with the law.

Looks like they caught him through YouTube, he’s kind of a dumbass for doing it knowing the videos are out there.
