Depends which part of Metairie.
Sure parts of it are cheaper than New Orleans, but overall it’s more expensive than most of the state.

Way lower taxes, relatively functional local government including trash and water service. Lower insurance rates. Much better demographics. Much much safer. It's cheaper than any desirable area in orleans.
The public schools suck everywhere in this state.

Plus it’s dumb as hell to compare Metairie to nicer suburbs in other states.
