Bridge jumping sounds plausible, but.... her calling her mother to tell her she got in a wreck doesn’t sound like she jumped. I don’t think she would’ve called her mom to tell her she wrecked then jumped. Somethings not adding up.

Yep. Especially if it was bipolar disorder.

Well if she was having an emotional crisis, a lot won’t add up.

Her car was hit the guy who hit the car said it was empty on the bridge. It couldn't have been there long.

Sadly I can only think Kidnapping or suicide.

If she really did call her mom to say she was in a wreck, it’s possible someone may have bumped her car on purpose to get her out. Or, she had a minor wreck and someone stopped to “help”, then abducted her. An attractive girl driving at night would be a target for a creep.

It would be so hard to kidnap someone in that setting, though, without being seen.

Unless someone like kidnapped or murdered her and then left her car up there to make it look like a suicide. But even then, it'd be pretty hard to walk on foot off of the bridge without someone seeing you. There's not a walking path on that bridge and it's a pretty substantial walk.

“While seeking answers, her uncle said the family learned of an argument between Kori Gauthier and her boyfriend that had taken place Tuesday night. They believe the woman may have been on her way to her aunt's house based on the address entered in her car's GPS, he said.”

“Late Wednesday night, Spencer Gauthier said an officer with the LSU Police Department told the family they were going to search for Kori Gauthier by helicopter and boat. Spencer Gauthier said he's been unable to get an update from his brother, the woman's father, since then because he and his wife have been emotionally distraught. An LSU Police Department spokesperson said Thursday afternoon the investigation is ongoing and they're still searching for her.”

I can’t get past the fact (if reports are true) that her purse and phone were left in her car that’s still running, parked in the middle of a major bridge, and the police don’t immediately call family or become very concerned.

Almost no one would get out of their car and not at least take their phone with them. I really want to hear a statement from the police on this.

Well then.

ETA: Also, she was headed eastbound, so it doesn't make sense for her to be heading to her aunt's house. If her aunt lives on the east side of the river, what was she doing in West Baton Rouge that late at night in the first place?

I can't see how anyone could even stop and get out without another car seeing. I broke down on that bridge once and someone towed me right off to Nicholson in less than five minutes.

If the other car hit her that hard in thinking she had no flashers on.

This sounds mostly like an abduction.

IF it was an abduction, I would guess she was never in that car on the bridge. The abduction or event happened before and the car was staged there.

Because she’s from Opelousas. Ok so, they say she called her mom to say she got in a wreck, meaning that she hit something or someone, then the guy in the black suv rear ended her from being parked in the middle of the bridge. So she either got out of the car, made the call, or stayed in the car and made the call. Disappeared in between the phone call and the second accident of the guy rear ending her. Is it possible someone hit her and knocked her off the bridge? Very strange. Doesn’t sound like suicide.

This part has to be clarified/confirmed with details of the conversation if it happened

The phone call to mom part after a wreck appears to be false

“The family of a missing LSU student from Opelousas says they had no idea Kori Gauthier's vehicle had been involved in a crash on the Baton Rouge bridge on Interstate 10 until they learned that she had not shown up to class, work, a doctor's appointment or her dorm.”

This is my theory too- but just a guess. Someone may have hit her on purpose with bad intentions. She quickly calls the mom and tells her she’s been in a wreck and shortly after the person who hit her abducts her?

I pray there’s a positive resolution to this and she’s found safe but I have my doubts

So there was no phone call to her parents.

She's from Opelousas, so she's headed back to the Baton Rouge area. She apparently had just had a fight with her boyfriend, but I would guess it was a fight on the phone or something, because the boyfriend was probably in Baton Rouge.

Foul play seems less likely now, IMO.
