Its the middle of the south
It was a cotton state
It has gulf coast and Appalachians
It has a major city
It has space age tech
It has big Mfg.
It has Nascar
It has great hunting and fishin,

Whats more southern than FloraBama? (Southernmost point don't count) not Venice, LA

No, but it doesn't hurt to have manufacturing, tech and cities. That was just to point out that a place can be awesome and totally southern at once.
Please explain how Bama is not southern. That place (Baldwin cnty) is on my short list of retirement destinations, and no place with Carolina in the name is more southern.
