Flour will keep it from getting worse. Slowly pull it off while putting more flour on the removed area.

Seriously, as some of the others have suggested, I would try some lightweight type of cooking oil….

They use baby oil in the hospital to get them off. I am sure other places you different oils, any oil would probably work.

We've heard from several that cooking oil is the ticket. Now you say flour.
Has anyone tried using a roux?

Warm soapy water.

ETA: my 3 year old got her arms stuck on one last week. The soapy water breaks it down. Got this tip from snake education Facebook groups that try to save snakes when they are caught in them.
