New baby on the way - Whooping Cough vaccine

Has anyone experienced baby getting Whooping Cough? Is it common, should you get the vaccine, should family members?
Unfortunately the medical community has destroyed its credibility during and after Covid, so just want to see what’s out there.
I do not want to ask/force anyone to do anything before the baby gets here that they don’t want, just looking for some facts. TIA

Whooping cough is pretty rare and is only dangerous to infants. I don't know why an adult would need the vaccine.

If you want to be that anti vaxxer than please don't come back when your baby gets a serious medical event while exposing other kids to an illness that's been eradicated from all children

So their infant doesn’t get it.
Pregnant women get a Tdap booster.
Vaccinate your child against pertussis, please.

We have a long solid history of a working whooping cough vaccine, I'm not sure why you'd question it.

Wonder what vaccine schedule border jumpers are on.
You think those kids they just leave out in fields are vaccinated?

My mom is as crunchy as you sound and we made her get it before our kids got here. She didn’t have any side effects.

no, because we all got the harmless Tdap shot and moved on without worrying about our kids dying from a cough

Many vaccines are good and necessary and many are overkill. Do t listen to the pure blood and 50/50 nimrods in here.

Great, another Jenny McCarthy.

yes.

also yes for family members who you expect to be hugging on your baby before it's been vaccinated

adults get the Tdap vaccine so they don't get infants who haven't received standard vaccines yet sick. Tdap covers more than just whooping cough

Pertussis (Whooping Cough) and influenza (flu) infections can cause serious and sometimes life-threatening
health problems in babies, especially in their first 6 months of life.
About half of infants diagnosed with whooping cough become hospitalized.
Four out of five babies with whooping cough were infected by someone at home.
How to protect your baby before 6 months of age?
Newborns are too young to receive the Tdap (Tetanus, diphtheria, and pertussis) and Flu vaccine. So, it is very
important for the mother and household members to get the vaccine before having contact with the baby.
Pregnant women need to get the flu vaccine anytime during pregnancy and Tdap vaccine
(best between 27- 36 weeks) with every pregnancy.
All adults and adolescents in contact with the baby need to get the flu and Tdap vaccines.
This includes: partners, fathers, grandparents, caregivers, and siblings. The flu vaccine is recommended
every year. Unless you are pregnant, the current Tdap recommendation is once during adulthood (after
19 years old). Adults should be immunized before caring for a baby. If you are not sure when you last
received the Tdap vaccine you should get the vaccine again right after the baby is born.

Follow the vaccine schedule minus the COVID-19 shot. CDC also started to recommend the monoclonal antibody for RSV which is also nasty stuff.

So that's what all the white trash moms are blaming the autism on instead of blaming drinking and drugs during pregnancy.

If you've taken the time to see what's out there, i.e. an unprecedented number of illegals pouring over the US borders who are unvaccinated, then you'd understand you need to protect your child.
