Anyone have either one of these? I’m very impressed with both of them.

Think I may get a Ranger Lariat FX4 or Canyon AT4. Both seem powerful and the right size for me. Hearing good things about both.

If you’ve got one - do you have any regrets? Any features you wish you got or anything that you got but didn’t really need?

Why don't these trucks come with leveling kits?

I have a Canyon AT4. It’s been solid. Gas mileage not as great and interior storage space limited (coming from a Sierra).

What are you coming from?

There was a thread a couple weeks ago on this same topic.

I have a Ranger FX4 XLT.

I like it so far (6000 miles). Don’t know what’s added with the Lariat, but I can’t think of any features I need that I’d add.

aren't they having a ton of issue with the new generation?

Apparently sales are terrible.

I’ve got a 2022 Denali Canyon. Got a great deal on it and it has been great so far. The dealership has been a pain to deal with afterwards but otherwise been a great truck so far. My kids will be driving it in a few years so I got a lot of thr safety features for them and luxury features for me.

Got a Toyota now. I love it.

The new ones I drove aren’t really anything special. I’d be willing to put up with the cheap feeling interior and buzzy engine if reliability was there but it’s not anymore.

If I go with a Japanese truck it will probably be a Nissan.

Did you get the 2.7L engine? What kind of gas mileage are you seeing?

I drove a 2.3L model Ford and a 2.7L GMC. Was blown away by the GMC’s power but I heard the 2.7L Ford is a great engine too.

I had a truck like that in high school other than a different color and it was a Sierra vs Silverado.

I am curious how to reconcile your statements. Why are you still working with the dealer?

Tacoma’s had teething issues for sure (like every new platform) but I’d bet Toyota fixes those quickly, unlike the domestics. Ranger just switched to a brand new turbo engine for ‘25 model year. That’s odd! I’d buy Taco over a Ranger or GM turbo engine ANY day. Plus Tacoma has more options to choose from.

I don't know about the Tacoma but the tundra had major issues with metal shavings in the block with the new twin turbo bullshite.

When I was looking the used Tundras with the badass 5.7 were more expensive than the brand new ones.

That 5.7 was the most reliable mass manufactured gas engine of all time. Getting rid of that was retarded of Toyota

Find a V6 Tacoma and enjoy it. That's a great motor.

You can even get one with decent bed length
