Koenigsegg has always built two-seat super- and hypercars. But that's now changing. This is the Koneigsegg Gemera, the Swedish company's first four-seater. It's a remarkable new direction for the brand.
The Gemera has a 2.0-liter twin-turbo three-cylinder with 600 horsepower and 442 lb-ft of torque. And it doesn't have camshafts. Yes, this tiny triple uses Koengisegg's remarkable Freevalve technology. This is also a FlexFuel engine designed to run on renewable alcohol. It combines with a hybrid system for an astonishing 1700 horsepower and 2581 lb-ft of torque. Koenigsegg claims it'll hit 62 mph in 1.9 seconds, which is bonkers.

Did you just link a Shmeeee vid on the OT?
Those Swedes can make a damn fine automobile.
ETA: Gotta say, the luggage setup is impressive. Just need to hit the old Powerball now.

Can’t wait for Doug’s review of the quirks and features, and the much anticipated Doug Score.
ETA It sure must be nice to be Shmee.

This isn’t really a halo Car since this is comparable to what Koenigsegg typically produces. The Ford gt is a halo car since it’s 5x the price of anything else they make

Better YouTube intro line?
“Hi guys I’m shmee”
Or
“THIS is a 1983 Buick grand national” from doug d.

1700HP taking 1.9 seconds to reach 60MPH seems slow to me for some reason. Obviously 0-60 in 1.9 seconds isn’t slow, but with that much HP I expected more
Beautiful car though.

Yea I guess it’s a halo car in the sense that it’s a new car for them that doesn’t fit their mold of prior cars. Taking them into somewhere they haven’t gone before.
4 seats.

Shmee impresses me with his videos that are 20 mins long, with his arm in the air the whole time, and they’re one long take.

That's a little more than double the time it takes a top fuel car to hit 60, and those are like 11,000hp.
The Gemera isn't some stripped out race car. Thing has 4 seats and major luxury features.
ETA: Not to mention this thing tops out at almost 250mph. That 0-60 is fricking nuts honestly

0-60 is more a function of traction than power. I'm sure the traps will be bonkers with that much power.

Anyone else expecting this:

I'm sure it has launch control but getting 1700 hp and traction of the line is the key.

Christian von Koenigsegg is a mad scientist with automobiles.
I just wish I could afford his cars.
