AMITE – A number of people were arrested during a raid at a notorious, rural strip club over reports of prostitution and drug activity.

WBRZ learned federal and state authorities along with the Tangipahoa Parish Sheriff's Office were involved in the Friday raid at the Mansion on Highway 16 in St. Helena Parish west of Amite. According to authorities, the agents were acting on reports of “prostitution, lewd acts and narcotic related activity” at the business.

There were multiple arrests, agents said in a news release. Some of those arrested were Mansion employees. An exact number of arrests or their charges were not released.

Authorities said based on an investigation and the arrests, the complaints were concern enough to force state regulators to suspend licenses for the business. A hearing on the license is set for later in December.

“The office of the [Louisiana Alcohol Tobacco Control] will have no further comment on this matter until the hearing has been conducted,” state regulators said.

The Mansion has caught the ire of locals before – previously, St. Helena Parish government attempted to block the Mansion and another similar club, the Oak Ridge Lounge, from offering topless dancers. As The Advocate reported in 2015, the regulation went to court and both were found to be protected under a grandfather clause.

When I was in the game I used to know a bunch of dudes that would go there to sell dope and mess with the strippers.

Comes as no surprise to me. I'm more surprised this didn't happen 10 years ago with the stories they used to tell me.

Taking my son to Sport Clips Saturday morning about 10am in Covington, a truck pulls next to us on the frontage road on Pinnacle heading west. They motion like they needed to ask me something. They look like they have DEFINITELY been in jail a time or two so I'm cautious as I say "yea what's up, guys?"

"Hey man, can you tell us how to get to the St Helena Sheriff's Office?"

My son even called it, "Dad, those guys didn't look very healthy."

Seeing this story from Friday night makes it all too clear now.

Yep. 06-07 The End of the Line and the Mansion were go-to spots for late night partying if you didn't want to drive to Nola at 2 am.

I’ve always heard that place had a pool. I can only imagine what went down in the pool of a strip club.

I can only imagine what happens in the VIP of a place like this or Illusions...
