And when he was patrolling in Vietnam, Forrest does say "We were always looking for Charlie."

Asians may have been offended. Not as offended as when the were snaked and naped, but still offended.

It's offensive because it shows a liberal slapping a woman.

You just gotta love when those who were long indignant of those intent on censoring them, all of a sudden become the one’s doing the censoring.

Anyone can find something to be offended about pretty much anytime they want to. This is simply the networks way of saying “we don’t think it is offensive, but wh don’t want to hear any shite if you choose to watch”

ETA: don’t be getting all offended by the “don’t get offended” message!

The dumbest part is the whole point of many parts of the movie is Forrest is kind and sympathetic to all the “progressive causes” he stumbles into that everyone else is being harsh and mean towards. Forrest really doesn’t know what’s going on in the outside world and is mostly pure because of that. He’s a sweet guy who wouldn’t say a mean thing about anybody and only wants to help who he can and be kind.

Ridiculous.

[quote]What now is all of a sudden offensive that wasn't before?[/quote

Dim's would tell you that conservatives are destroying the country. Your OP is proof that it isn't the conservatives changing and destroying the country, it's the other side that is obviously changing.

Somebody should explain that to Dim's, although you would have a Dim chance of getting through.

I find it hilarious that you don’t know what the disclaimer was about, but are making assumptions and looking to be offended by the disclaimer.

You are who you hate.

This is the best line (for me) from the movie that sneaks under the radar-

I find it offensive that Jenny was a using whore who pushes her bastard child that likely isn’t Forrest’s on him.

Probably the scene about school integration and "mama getting coons off the back porch with a broom"

I’d be offended if they made a movie about a retard being able to graduate LSU. I would assume Alabama would feel the same.

Blazing Saddles could never be made today...no matter who was involved in production. That 1st 30 minutes offends pretty much everybody possible (by design) and it is glorious.

I don't think the dreaded N word was ever used.

It was. Mama used to chase em off with a broom.

What in today's society makes the movie Forrest Gump so offensive?

Probably because of multiple references to Alabama football. That's what got me anyway.

Joking aside, I went back and watched that scene and realized all the signs in the stadium say "Go Alabama Go" instead of "Roll Tide". Was there some kind of trademark issue to not let them use that, or was that phrase not in use yet in the early 60s?

I was watching a movie the other day, and I can’t remember what it was, but I think it was on AMC, every word was fine...son of a bitch, a-hole, shite head, etc...but when someone called someone else a retard, the word was removed.

I don't know about the AMC channel, but there has been disclaimers on regular television for movies for a while now.

"Warning, this movie may contain nudity, profanity, blah blah blah, and other offensive material. This is not suitable for children. Viewer discretion is advised"

Please don't tell me this is your first time seeing this type of message, because it certainly isn't new or because of the pc age.

I was watching Joe Dirt on comedy central a couple of months ago. And they bleeped out anything referencing being gay, like when he says that's a little fruity, they bleeped out fruity and the home is where you make it part. Yet they make fun of multiple groups of people, natives, rednecks, Cajuns.
