1985, that was a bad day. That was actually the Sheriff's mother that ran over them people.

Great festival to bring the children to. One of the best festivals in the state
Great strawberrys, good food, and the kids can play with the pit bull puppies for sale before heading home.

I used to work the festival back in my fraternity days and you would see your typical LP and Tangi trash out there

If only we could build a wall or just have everything south of I-12 and east of I-55 annexed by St Tammany.
Wishful thinking I suppose.

Is it still culcha infested?
Posted on 4/12/19 at 11:11 pm to Pechon
I agree with the wall but why in the hell would the electorate of the newly formed Republic of Ponchatoula want to be annexed by anything St. Tammany?
Posted on 4/12/19 at 11:33 pm to Skeet Mc
Eh, people in Bedico pretty much pretend they're in St Tammany while sending their kids to Ponchatoula schools.

So the kids decided to talk me into going and I snapped a few photos. Being an election year in Louisiana, the Strawberry Festival is rife with many many political apperances.
By far the best was Mike Strain and his platform on this truck. Not sure why they did this or perhaps ol baw can't get up in the bed of that truck.
Eh, he looks like he doesn't give a frick:
Steve Scalise made an appearance and he's looking well:
Tangipahoa Parish President Robby Miller giving away cups like he gives away pirated Windows licenses.
Pat "I have a NAVY ACHIEVEMENT MEDAL" Farris, the 7th ward Marshall. I asked his Facebook when he was running as he prominently displayed said medal on his campaign flyers that "Hey Pat, I have four Army Achievement Medals, does that make me more qualified to be Marshall?". Yeah, they blocked me after that.
Fun fact, Daniel Edwards is a mouthbreather. He's also like 5' 8":
Of course his brother is too good to come back to Tangipahoa Parish. Was a no-show with the cronies you see here at the Sicilian Festival in Independence last month and what a shock, a no show at the largest festival in his home parish. Bruh, if you don't show your arse in Tickfaw in two weeks for the Italian Festival, forget winning Tangipahoa parish this year.
Ralph Abraham had this entry but he was a no-show as well:
Finally, this has nothing to do with politics or politicking. However I felt the O-T could appreciate the "bawness" of this entry:

Wasn't the sheriff's office by far his biggest customer in his subsequent business? Is he related to the Edwards or just one of the machine players?

Excellent report Pechon!
No need for me to attend now. I can just kick back, light my funnel cake-scented aromatherapy candle and scroll thru your pics.

Not sure about that one but he does Crossfit so that should also tell you a little more about him.
Not all of us that have any relation to the Edwards family really care about him. Somehow we have a common ancestor. Then again, it's Tangi and we're all related. fricking scary to be honest.
Since I didn't use the tickets I got for the kids for rides as it was stupid crowded, I have to bite the bullet and go back tomorrow. I also have another 300 pictures I need to go through and touch up a bit in Lightroom. I got a Nikon D5600 a month ago to get a hobby that doesn't involve working on computers or video games. Happy to share for those who can't make it or don't want to endure the trashiness.

Their festival queen paid us a visit and she's not a bad looking lady at all:

Bag of Doughnuts is the worst of the worst of the crappy fair and festival bands. God Inhate those no talented fckers

Just got back from there. It was a mix of people as usual. Some real interesting characters but everybody was well behaved. Plenty of police presence but not intrusive. It was actually ok for me. I don't go very year but I enjoyed it. I do like to people watch and that is a good place to do that.

Eh, they're not everyone's cup of tea but the couple times I've seen them at Rockin Willy's here they've been entertaining. Another thing is if you're single, plenty of good looking women come out to see them.

How ridiculously crowded was it? Well:

I like your comments on our local politics. One of these days we need to put together a TD gathering at one of the local watering holes.
