Oldest High School In Louisiana

I was at homecoming this weekend in Alexandria and its become a big time thing, almost like a festival. Parade, Day Long Tailgate, Football game, After Parties. Its growing every year because of our strong alumni base and tradition. At the game, the announcer called out the classes to stand and cheer by decade cause there are so many. So it got me to thinking, what is the oldest high school in the state? I know Peabody has been open under that name in some form since 1895 and I know Bolton is like 1898? I think.
Anybody know?
Its amazing to think we survived as a black high school all these years, most others were consolidated and done away with.

Good question. I'd imagine the catholic schools in New Orleans are quite old, but I wonder what the oldest public school is?

You are not in the conversation unless your school is 175 or older

When did Ursuline start really being a “high school”, though? I bet you can’t really classify what it was doing in the 18th century as such.
