Leo is headed to Stab's. I guess his shenanigans were only good for a couple of months away from the Baton Rouge dinner scene.

quote:

Big news Thursday on the Baton Rouge restaurant scene – veteran restauranteur Leo Verde has joined Wayne Stabiler's family of restaurants.

The announcement was made by Operations Manager Kevin Kimball. Verde, who most recently was the general manager for Sullivan’s Steakhouse, will be at Stab's Prime Steak & Seafood on Jefferson Highway.

“Leo and I have been friends for over 25 years, so you can only imagine the excitement both of us share in working together at Stab’s,” Kimball said. “Leo's experience along with his passion for Baton Rouge is a perfect fit.”

Why does the OT love or hate him?

Bunch of people alluded to what got him fired from Sullivan's in the original thread. I never could figure it out but was kind of hoping someone would pop up in here and explain.

Kind of curious since the guy was always an excellent host when I went there.

Leo's absence at Sullivan's has lead to an immediate decline in quality, atmosphere, and taste. It's truly remarkable how fast they have fallen.

Agreed. I never go in there anymore. Stabs is way overpriced though.

It’s appalling and at the same time odd that fox and hound has been closed for 5 years now and absolutely nothing has come in its place. Clicks seems dead too. So basically, on one of the most visible shopping centers in Baton Rouge, you have Sullivan’s and Hooters. That shopping center is an eyesore.

I can guarantee you the BS that people were alluding to were not the reasons he got fired.

He got fired because he was the highest paid GM in the company (after getting a raise to be the GM at Del's Dallas 10 yrs ago then another large raise when he became regional manager) and they are cutting costs of the Sullivan's brand in order to sell all the Sullivans.

He is good at what he does. It was very evident the last time he left Sullivan's. He hires hot women, and manages his wait staff and kitchen meticulously.

What was the rumor why he got fired?

Sexual harassment.

Yes, years ago he got in trouble for that but he straightened up after nearly getting let go 10 years ago for that. It had no bearing in his actually being let go.

Agree on Sullivan's. Atmosphere is not close to the same. Steaks neither.

It'd be a good location for a Dave And Buster's

Landlords are terrible and won't do a THING to improve anything. Also, the location is kind of hard to get to or tell someone how to get there if they don't know how to do it.

So in an effort to make Sullivan's attractive to buyers, they killed the brand's value...Brilliant

Back in the day you had Clicks, Sullivan’s, Poets, Hooters, and Nightlife. That area was a mini entertainment complex in early 2000’s.

Not a fan. But also not a fan of Sullivan’s so maybe that’s part of why
