Did she ever apologize to BYU?

While I think revenue sharing in college football and (to a lesser extent) men's basketball is fair given the players general millions in revenue for the schools (massive TV contracts, ticket sales, licensing deals) this is why it would be an utter disaster to try to implement salaries in college sports. The shortstop on the softball team would be demanding to earn the exact same salary as the starting QB on the football team.
If college athletic departments were run like an actual business Dawn Staley wouldn't have a job. WBB programs are often the single biggest money loser in the department given the bloated coaches' salaries far exceed market value relative to the revenue generated by the programs. A business would quickly cut it's most unprofitable product line. But, since football and basketball generate so much money the schools can afford to absorb the loss of WBB...which is largely the byproduct of HC salaries.
Staley ought to get on her knees and pray every day football and men's basketball don't pack their shite and leave the NCAA and somehow separate from the rest of the athletic department. If that happens her $1M salary is G-O-N-E.
In 22-23 SC women's basketball had total a total revenues of ~$5M. It had total EXPENSES of nearly $11M...which means it operated at the single biggest LOSS of any program in the department.

So explain to me how Kim Mulkey makes more than Matt McMahon or Jay Johnson.
The LSU Womens basketball team operated at a nearly $8.0MM deficit after winning the title in 2023. The LSU athletic department filed return showing a total deficit of $4MM for the entire athletic department (all sports).
Salaries and bonuses doubled the team's revenue of $2.5MM. This according
- Not good practice normally when you run a business. Guess someone knows someone to get clipped for this amount
For clarity:
LSU womens tickets sales were $155,636 acorrding to the most recent filed financial report. So, womens revenue was almost entirely media and tournament related which still did not cover Mulkey and cos. salaries/bonuses.
This was either terrible business or someone hedged that LSU would never win a title thus forgoing the bonsues.

Got to make the bleeding heart admins...bleed more cash. By her logic John McDonnell at Arkansas should have retired a billionaire... He won three titles a year regularly..

The Ath. Dept. only showed a loss because they transferred five million dollars to the university.
The way I see it, Woodward can spend all he makes as long as he send funds to the university. His job is to pay all his bills and win championships. The more the better. That’s how he is judged as long as there are no scandals.
He isn’t in business to turn a profit and that’s the reason he can splurge on certain coaches. He’s got the revenues.

Hey, if you wanna come at me in some random thread, that's fine. Just don't cry the next time I point out one of your braindead posts.

Dawn Staley supports trans women ( MEN) being able to play alongside women in sports. This also means using the same locker rooms. Unbelievable. Would you let your daughter play for her? Jeez.

They don’t understand that when you mix socialism with capitalism, something’s gotta give.

Would you let your son for a free education is the real question.
