I wonder if you could check in there and just enjoy the amenities without doing the rehab part.

There are cheaper resorts.

I always wonder how much f'ing goes on in these rehab resorts. I bet it's like a big swingers convention.

I think you're not supposed to knock boots in those programs. Still happens I'm sure

My boy Wes got a rich chick to leave her husband and knocked her up all starting at Wood Lake.
She was fine as frick too. Just a little slut though.
Eta - I said husband but I think they were just engaged. Can't quite remember that part.

Close friend of mine went there for a four week dry out program paid for by her company. $60k and she said it was as nice as it looks with some very "interesting" people.

I know a guy that went there. He said it's just like advertised with the swimming pools and beach front property. He said there is no actual treatment there, just basically a place to dry out for 30 days. If I remember correctly, he paid $90k for the month. There is another one in Colorado, I think near Colorado Springs but not exactly sure about that one.

Those places are dangerous in the long run. People go there, pay alot of money, detox, play volleyball, take vitamins, etc. Don't do any work towards being sober for their life. Then they come back home, relapse and die because they lost their tolerance while they were there. It happens alot, nobody says a word.

I can see that. Buddy of mine died after he had dried out for a few months. He was 44. Same shite happened to Amy Winehouse. The body can't handle the reintroduction of the previously abused substance(s)

Hmmm. Is that really the resort's fault though. Any junkie worth his salt should know he has to build his tolerance back up.

Pretty sure I know who you're talking about.. Wes is a 'Christian' musician/pastor, right?

quote:This is the main problem I have with rehabs. There are some in-patients that have a strict counseling program, which will take up most of the day, but a lot of them are more resort style.
Don't do any work towards being sober for their life.
Addicts need to get back in to being a contributor to society. Working, service, etc etc. There are only a few that try to incoporate them in the real world while at the same time offering counseling.
For example, Cenikor here in BR puts the people in it's program to work. You basically work to stay there, have a place to sleep and have food/running water. At night time, you go to counseling and things like that. After about a year to a year and a half, you can enter the "reentry" phase, where you move to a different wing on the property, but can start keeping your money and have your own transportation.
More models need to turn to a model structured similar to that. The success rate would be better and, it also allows the patients to have a job when they get out on there own, which is one of the biggest problems they have leaving these resort style rehabs.

It's like $10-20k per day depending on the package you order.
