I grew up in West Monroe and have many fond memories of wandering Pecanland Mall on a Saturday. I’d hit the arcade, the comic book kiosk, and Sbarro for about ten bucks.
I’m pretty sure the last movie I saw there before moving to Huntsville was Coming to America.

When my brother got kicked out of LSU for getting in a fistfight with a tow truck operator, my parents sent my sister (no pics) and me to the movies while they had a come to Jesus meeting with him. We went to Pecanland Mall and watched Michael Keaton as Batman.

Lots of memories of that movie theater & that mall growing up near there. Those were the days. I hear it resembles Mogadishu now.

I saw many good movies there, including Keaton’s Batman, when I was 7.
Had some great times in that theatre. RIP.

I remember watching “The Program” with James Caan there. I had just started driving. Loved checking out the talent from the other northla towns.

I’m actually amazed at how how well it has held up compared to a lot of other malls. It’s probably been 6-8 months since I was in, but there weren’t a lot a vacant spots there. I think maybe jc penney was still vacant.

That sounds like an amazing opening line for a narrated movie

I have many many memories there. The last movie I saw there was possibly Titanic. Remember getting a tub of popcorn to go, my mom loved it. She died about 9 years ago. Popcorn may have had something to do with it.
The Nelsons and Jay Tom’s had Card Co.
grab me a pair of Structure jeans.
Appetizers was so legit!
Go down and get yelled at by the Camo Shop Owner. A hole.
I remember the day it opened.

I hope it was a Riverside driver and I hope he put the driver in a coma

Went to NLU and would occasionally go to Pecanland. I think it held up better than most malls until lately. Definitely better than the Ellick mall.

Last time I saw the PLM (almost 2 years ago) that place was still there. I was shocked.

THAT'S A WRAP," the sign reads. "Thank you for your business over the past 38 years. While this theatre is permanently closed, we look forward to serving you at our West Monroe location."
They have a West Monroe location?

This is a real name? Is "Pecanland" the reason for the closing?
