You also can't tell cadence, speed, and resistance but as you continuously do it, you get better at getting int he ballpark by watching the instructors legs cadence.
Then put your phone on youtube and save the $12 amirite?
"OK I can't do any of the things that the bike is made to do, but man I don't miss it at all!"

quote:I assure you it’s not a piece of crap. I did a lot of research on bikes before I bought it and for quality to price point, this brand was one of the best. Again, I’ve had it over a year and my wife and I have put a lot of time on it and I’m still happy with my purchase.
At least get a decent quality bike...that bike looks like total piece of crap.
I was never going to pay $2000 for an indoor excercise bike becaus I prefer to ride a road bike. I would pay that for a road bike though. To each his own. You spend your money how you want but I’m offering a cheaper alternative that I know most people would prefer to the money bags peleton bike owners here.

Why do people place a Peloton in front of a window or a nice looking view when they are staring at a screen the whole time?
Because a window behind you would cause glare.

Why not I guess? At least you can look up and enjoy the view or look outside during the class.
You can just ride on it and not do a class.
Yall should see some of the real setups people have for the Peloton. I see all kinds of setups in the Peloton fb group I'm in. Some are like normal folk...spare bedroom, garage/basement home gym, wherever. Some...they have designed a room just for the bike with neon lights with their leaderboard name and the peloton logo and wall hangings with the logo. People go all out

Some people plan special trips to NYC where the Peloton studio is so they can ride in the studio and meet their favorite instructors. These instructors have semi-celebrity status to many people(most of them also have other fitness stuff as well they promote).
I'm also a member of a Peloton fb group for women in their 40s. Now that's a lively group. They post all kinds of stuff. Lately it's been long discussion on why every woman needs a Womanizer(yall don't know what that is...Google)

The groups are great to help motivate you though.

This is the most depressing thing I’ve read on the OT.

Why not just ride a real bike if you’re that much into scenery?

They ever post pics?

All the time. The main chick that hosts the group is pretty hot actually.
But I like the group and the chick is really nice so I'm not posting her pic here.

Why would a bike rider get on the road? That’s what sidewalks are for

I do ride a real bike outside. As does my husband when he goes mountain biking on the weekends.
The Peloton is for workouts inside. Being able to ride at 4 am before getting ready for work. Big difference in riding outside and taking a spin class.
Btw...our bike isn't facing a window.

This is BS. There is no way anyone could afford both!

I don't understand why people are freaking out over the cost of the bike.
Anyone that rides any kind of bike knows how expensive they can be. I mean...my husband's mountain bike was 5K and that's an average cost for a good mountain bike for someone really into the hobby. Like someone else said...gym quality spin bikes can cost 2k as well.

These jackasses don’t get it. My wife loves her peloton and has over 300 rides under her belt. She has done a ride or peloton excericise segment for 30 straight days.

But doesn’t a bike that cost $500 do the same thing?
